Uploading Files to Marcus Printing
For a fast turnaround of proofs and jobs, Marcus Printing recommends sending the files via FTP, which stands for "File Transfer Protocol."
Many of our customers are already familiar with transfering files to us using attachments to email. And all of you are familiar with HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) which is the protocol or way of getting computer information from the Web into your browser.
FTP is just another way to send computer files over the Internet. Files will not be altered in any way just by being transfered via FTP. It is the standard protocol for transfering files and is much more reliable than Email. Any file size can be transfered from our customer's computer to our FTP computer, unlike the the 5mb limit for Email.
Using an FTP Client
In order for our customers to send us files via FTP they will need an FTP program, or client, on their computer. Two popular programs on the Mac are "Fetch" and "Transmit" and on the PC side "WS_FTP".
To upload your files using an FTP client, you need:
- an FTP program such as Fetch, Transmit (Mac) or WS_FTP (Windows) (if you need advise in this, please call us.)
- our FTP address is: ftp.marcusprinting.com
- your USERNAME : YYYYY
- your PASSWORD : xxx
Using our Web Interface
You can use your web browser to access our FTP Web Interface. In your browser's address bar, type:
Or, you can click on this link and it will take you directly there. You will need to type your User ID and your password to upload your files.
